During this 3-hour workshop, you will learn the basics of the Python programming language based on your knowledge of Java. This workshop covers the Python syntax for variables, data types, conditional statements, loops, functions, classes and objects. We will also discuss one of the most attractive features of Python, packages, which will come in handy for seminars and other research projects.
In order to follow the Pythonize your Java Skills workshop, you should fulfil at least one of the following requirements:

Have successfully completed the course Introduction to Programming FEB21011(X) and/or Programming FEB22012(X).

Be familiar with all of the following concepts of the Java programming language:
Variables
Data types (including but not limited to, integers, strings, and booleans) Conditional statements
Loops
Functions (simple functions with only a return statement is enough) Classes and objects
There will be no entrance quiz, each student will be responsible for fulfilling the requirements for the workshops and answering the question regarding their knowledge of Java truthfully.
